Roquefavour aqueduct

I did not know the Roquefavour aqueduct was the largest stone aqueduct in the world. Is is 410yd long and 272ft high and it is made up of three rows of arches. Apparently it was built in order to supply Marseille with water and saved the city from cholera and the plague. The aqueduct was modeled on the Pont du Gard. But it is considerably larger. Some people think that its modern construction seems rather too perfect and thus it would fail to achieve the same effect you get when you face the Pont du Gard. I think the aqueduct is quite impressive and this spot is one of the most peaceful one I know. Watch the video and get there early in the morning :-)
